Follow the steps below to get the most accurate measurement for press-on nails:
1. Start by cleaning your natural nails and making sure they are free of any polish or residue.
2. Take a soft measuring tape or a piece of paper or cloth and wrap it around the widest part of each of your nails.
3. Take note of the measurements in millimeters for each finger and refer to the size chart above.
4. Choose the size that fits the majority of your nails.
Remember, it's always best to start with nails that are slightly larger than your natural nails, as you can easily trim them down to achieve the perfect fit. Take your time, be gentle, and enjoy your beautifully customized press-on nails!
Customizing your DYDM nails for a Perfect Fit
Press-on nails sometimes require a little adjustment for the perfect fit, and we've got you covered with these handy hacks. Follow our simple steps below to achieve a flawless fit and enjoy a seamless press-on nail experience that exceeds your expectations!
Resizing Large Press-On Nails
-
Assess the fit:
Check how the large press-on nail aligns with your natural nail. Identify the areas that need adjustment.
-
File and shape the excessive part:
Take a nail file and gently file down the sides and edges of the press-on nail. Gradually remove small amounts of the nail, checking the fit on your natural nail periodically until it comfortably matches the size and shape of your nail bed.
-
Smooth the edges:
After achieving the desired size, use the nail file to smooth out any rough edges or uneven areas created during the filing process. This will help ensure a seamless and natural appearance.
Remember to take your time and file the press-on nail slowly and gradually. It's better to make small adjustments at a time and test the fit frequently to avoid removing too much material.
Expanding Small Press-On Nails
-
Warm the press-on nail:
Use a hairdryer on a low heat setting to warm the press-on nail. Hold the hairdryer a few inches away from the nail and move it back and forth for about 10-15 seconds. The heat will make the nail more pliable and easier to adjust.
-
Gently stretch the nail:
While the press-on nail is still warm, carefully stretch it to widen the size. You can use your fingers or a pair of tweezers to gently pull the sides and edges outward. Be cautious not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the nail.
-
Test the fit:
Place the adjusted press-on nail on your natural nail and check the fit. If it's still too small, repeat steps 1 and 2 until you achieve the desired size.
Using a hairdryer to adjust the size of a press-on nail can be a helpful technique. However, it's important to exercise caution and avoid overheating the nail or applying excessive force during the process. If you're unsure or uncomfortable, it's recommended to seek assistance from a professional nail technician.
